I had the idea for a location-based recommendation app that will target parents
of young children (birth to 10 years) in the offering of listings of activities and local services tailored to them, their children and their specific needs.

As a parent, I’m very familiar with the difficulties often experienced by parents in finding good child/family friendly services, particularly when visiting a new place.

My concept is for a location-based recommendation app that will simplify the search for child-friendly services in a specific location, such as child-friendly cafes with baby changing facilities, toys, books, high chairs or child-friendly restaurants where the staff don’t clean up around you as you feed your toddler. A big no, no!

It will provide listings of local activities to do with kids on a tight budget, on public transport routes, free attractions, great local parks, playgrounds, softplay facilities.
All backed up with recommendations and reviews by an online community of local parents. It will also feature preferences and filters enabling users to specify any health requirements, public transport needs, interests and special needs.

I conducted in-depth competitor analysis and user research on three parents that represented the app's target audience and demographic, before developing my wireframe designs into a lo-fi prototype, to be tested by my parent testers.
